Halloween Fun
It was wonderful to be able to get out of the house today. Sam and I went shopping for a little while this morning and purchased a snow shovel. We may need it...I bought a few things for our Operation Christmas Children shoe box ministry coming up. I went to the grocery store along with everyone else in town. Needed some more candy (Butterfingers to be exact). Enjoyed seeing Mia saying "Boo" and Cat and Meow. What a treat! Love her little ladybug outfit. Saw a picture of Will dressed up like a punk rocker. Looking good! Thinking about Byrum and hoping that he was able to dress up and go out trick or treating. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of my little ballerina, Ellie and Byrum, the transformer. This evening we treated ourselves to Carl Jr's hamburgers and french fries which hit the spot along with the root beer treat that I gave to myself. Sam and I had a great time at our church helping out with games and just having fun. I helped with "Go Fish." Dad is still at the church getting everything all set back up for Sunday morning. I haven't figured out how to do the labels for my pictures but, here are a few of the pictures that we took today. I need to work on this blog a little bit more and figure some things out but was just thinking about Halloween Candy and thinking of my all time favorites. As a child, I liked double bubble bubble gum, candy corn, licorice, malted milk balls, candy pumpkins and anything that was chocolate (baby ruths, butterfingers,). Sam and I have been on a Butterfinger binge for about a month now. Guess that has been our favorite this halloween.
Guess this is enough for now...Happy Halloween

blue sky...a new day
Happy to see the sunshine! Snow is so much prettier with a blue sky. It doesn't feel cold and it makes me smile to be outside again. Thinking about my family today, especially Ashley, Jason & Byrum. It is so hard to say goodbye to someone you loved so much. Ashley, we are thinking of you and your family.

Jimmy & Gilda will be heading home tomorrow
It is always fun to have company. It is a little sad to see Jimmy & Gilda have to go back to NC. We have enjoyed our time together and are talking about Thanksgiving and Grandmommie's birthday on Thanksgiving Day. Planning the big meal! If you have any ideas about what you would like to bring, just let me know. We have had some good food as we ventured from place to place seeing the sites. Today at lunch, I had bread pudding french toast. It was so good! We rode the light rail downtown and ate at Wynkoop Brewery. Yummy food and fun walking in the snow.

SNOW SNOW GO AWAY, COME AGAIN ANOTHER DAY
I love to watch the snow fall but....not today! Jimmy and Gilda are coming tomorrow and I have lots to do today to be all ready for their visit. It will probably be all gone by tomorrow and wishing for some warm temperatures and sun shine while they are here.
I was thinking about how much Byrum loved watching it snow and throwing snowballs. Look how much snow you could play in and make lots more snow balls!
Wondering about snow when Mia is here in December. She may see lots of it! We may be able to go for a sleigh ride.

This is the day that the Lord has made!
Thinking about my children this morning as I look at a beautiful sunrise that Sam pointed out to me. I remember singing to them in the morning to wake them up: "This is the day that the Lord has made...We will rejoice and be glad in it...
I hope that my children are singing to their children... and I know they do.
Praying that Jason will have a safe trip home and that Sharon and Dusty will enjoy their drive to New York today as they go celebrate her 30th birthday!

What a difference a day makes!
One of the comments I hear often is, "If you don't like the weather today...just wait...it will be different tomorrow" (So true) While Ashley, Byrum & Jason were out visiting we had a little bit of every kind of weather. In these photos you will see lots of changes in the weather during their visit.

Saturday, October 10, 2009 (Maps)
"Trusting God when we can't see the road map isn't easy, but its necessary."
I am not sure where I first saw that quote, but it has helped me over the last two years living in Colorado. Sam and I had such a good visit with Jason, Ashley & Byrum. Byrum reminded me of this quote during this visit since he loves maps! We used them often during their visit getting from place to place. We talked about a map driving to the airport today. Ashley & Byrum should almost be back to North Carolina, as I write this. Sam and I have been following their flight path on the internet. Our first map we used while they were visiting was the map of the Cheyene Mountain Zoo. Byrum led the way for a very enjoyable time there.
