I'm Hooked On A Feeling.......
Sam and I celebrate our 40th (you heard right) anniversary tomorrow. 40 YEARS!!!!!!
We have been celebrating over the weekend. Sam surprised me last night and took me to one of the very best restaurants we have ever been to. I can't really recall the exact name of the restaurant but it was in an old restored church over 100 years old. The food was incredible! Today, we went shopping and he bought me some cool new clothes! Tomorrow, we will celebrate and go to the Rockies game and then to a Jeremy Camp concert! We will continue to celebrate going on a trip soon to places in Colorado that we haven't traveled and also into Utah.
I'm hooked on a feeling, by B J Thomas was our song....I think back to that very hot August day that we started our life together. I am so blessed with a wonderful husband and a beautiful family!
Sam and I will return to that great restaurant, but won't wait for the next 40 years to do so....I love you, Sam.

Highlights of my visit home
I know...Colorado is my home (or where I currently reside), North Carolina is home.
I didn't pack my camera, so I don't have any pictures to share but did enjoy my trip.
I arrived in Charlotte with a beautiful welcoming committee, John, Denise, Will & Ellie. We then drove to Kings Mountain to join Jason, Ashley & Byrum, Sharon, Mia and Ben. The swimming pool was a hit! Everyone had grown up so much even from the last visit in April. It was such a joy watching all of the family interact and especially the evening they were all dancing to "Baby Baby". I enjoyed some of most favorite foods while visiting...Barbeque, hush puppies & slaw, Marcie's pecan pie, fried shrimp, Cinnamon buns from the farmers market, blueberries picked from Jason & Ashley's yard, watermelon, pancakes, and stick boy.
Spending time with the grandchildren was so much fun! Ben is the happiest baby ever! His smile and all of his expressions amaze me. Mia is singing songs, talking in full sentences and loves pretending. Byrum, Will and Ellie are all such good swimmers. Enjoyed listening to Will play his guitar and see Ellie show me all of her new dance moves and her singing ability. Byrum is getting ready for school as he asked how to spell words. I can't believe he will start school this year.
Thank you for me feel so comfortable in your homes. All of my children and children in laws are the best host and hostess.
It was good to get to see Grandmommie and Claude, Aunts & Uncles, my sister in law Cathy and my Mom. Thankful that Mama is doing better. Enjoyed going to Lola's on Sunday afternoon having a delicious lunch, relaxing with one of my best friends and seeing Mandy, Steve, Andrew & Caleb.
It was good to get back to Denver and see Sam. I missed him so much and wish that he could have been on the trip with me.
I am thankful for our wonderful family and feel so blessed to have had that time with all of them. Oh, I just want to thank my children, Denise, Ashley & Dusty too for raising our grandchildren to know the Lord. Hearing a grandchildren pray was defintely one of the best highlights! "This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look...ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." (Jeremiah 6:16)
Back to reality....need to make a grocery list and figure out what to do next.
