Happy Birthday to Sharon

Thinking about Sharon today as she celebrates her 31st birthday. The years have passed so quickly. I am posting a picture of Sharon, and remembering that day as I tried once again to have her picture made smiling. On this day, the only way I could get a picture of her was to hold her and have the photographer do the best he could with a crying child and an upset Mama.



As I think about that day 31 years ago, I am reminded that Ashley and Jason will be celebrating soon, the birthday of little Elijah Gray. We can't wait to meet him!

Celebrating Birthdays

Sam and I have enjoyed our summer and early fall with family that has come out to visit. We just LOVE spending time with family and enjoying some of the fun things to do in Colorado. We celebrated Sam's 61st birthday and Jimmy's 58th birthday on top of Pikes Peak. The day couldn't have been more perfect.

Afterwards, we ventured to territories unknown, Steamboat Springs, Co. Again, the weather was perfect for being outside and we enjoyed spending time in a natural hot springs. I was thinking about Ashley and Jason as they wanted to try that when they were here last year. The visit to the hot springs was in honor of Ashley and Jason.

We visited a beautiful waterfall and enjoyed putting our toes in the very cold stream. This was a beautiful waterfall, but I will have to say, waterfalls in North Carolina are awesome!!!! Sam loves to take pictures of wildlife when he has opportunities and this one of the little squirrel is pretty cute.

Wanted to wish Jason and Ashley as Happy 8th Anniversary! Sam and I went to the Octoberfest last weekend and remembered our fun time there last year with Jason, Ashley & Byrum. The weather was pretty much the same as it was last year but we really missed having family along with us.
